Chapter History

​

The Alpha Sigma Tau Epsilon Alpha Chapter was founded on November 20, 2004 at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The Epsilon Alpha Chapter started with 23 founding sisters and today, these sisters are still involved with the chapter.



The mission of the Epsilon Alpha Chapter is:

As a family, we are at our best when we strive to act as sisters.

We will try to prevent times when we clash.
We will find more time with each other to enjoy each other's company.
We will help each family member by communicate and support one another.
We will help others by philanthropy.
We will stop procrastinating and start working on: Ethical responsibilities, lifelong learning.
We will be viewed as a family that successful leaders, compassionate sisters.
We will fill our home with sisterly love.
We will make choices and decisions based on: Mutual respect, value diversity, continuous improvement .

National History

​

Alpha Simga Tau was founded on November 4, 1899 at Michigan State Normal College in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Today, Alpha Sigma Tau has over 84 chapters and colonies and over 40 alumnae associations nationwide.

​

Our purpose is to promote the ethical, cultural, and social development of its members, specifically to develop the character of each member through a study of ethics so that she will show in all her relationships sincerity, honesty, love and understanding; to help each member enjoy the cultural advantages in life so that she will know how to select those things which are most worthwhile; and to develop in each member the social graces to the extent that she will be able to take her place in life with true dignity and poise.
